The village of Kšely can be found in the Central Bohemian Region in the Kolín district, about four kilometers southeast of the town of Český Brod. The Chotýšský stream flows through the village and its dominant feature is an evangelical church with a rectory.
The first written mention of the village dates back to 1266. In the past, Kšely was divided into Horní and Dolní Kšely and fell under different owners. At the end of the 18th century, the village was an important center of the Reformed Church in the Kolín region.
Kšely has been an independent municipality since 1991. At present, 230 inhabitants live here.
