The village of Činěves is located on a picturesque western hill, from where there is a beautiful view of the fertile Polabí. It is located 15 km north of Poděbrady near road No. 32 Poděbrady – Jičín.

The first mention of the village of Činěves dates back to 1294. The parish priest, priest and writer František Lukeš worked here between 1956 and 1990.

497 inhabitants live in the village. The village has a developed infrastructure. There is water supply, sewerage, a kindergarten, a retirement club with a nursing home. A Peugeot and Škoda car dealership and service center, a gas station, a dishwasher, a bakery, a general store, pubs, restaurants, a slaughterhouse with a butcher shop, and other businesses in the fields of agriculture and carpentry have their headquarters here.

There are two hunting associations, a fishing association, TJ Sokol and a gardeners' association.

The dominant feature of the village is the church of St. Wenceslas, whose origins date back to the 14th century, and the rectory building from 1711. Other monuments include a column with a statue of the Virgin Mary, a statue of St. Jan Nepomucký or the tombstone of Dorota Křinecká. There is a monument to the victims of the First World War in the village, and a statue in the park to honor the memory of children who died in concentration camps during the Second World War.
