The town of Horní Jiřetín is located in northwestern Bohemia at the foot of the Ore Mountains in the district of Most. It is situated at an altitude of 280 m above sea level and covers an area of 3985 ha. Horní Jiřetín is divided into five parts, which are located in six cadastral territories: Horní Jiřetín, Černice, Dolní Jiřetín, Jezeří and Mariánské Údolí. The first written mention of Horní Jiřetín dates back to 1263. At present, our town has 2276 inhabitants.
