The Fruit Union of Moravia and Silesia, z.s. is a professional association of growers with the aim of representing its members and protecting their interests. Furthermore, provide consultancy, information and educational activities, help with integration between primary producers, processors and traders.
The Union is in close contact with research institutions and tries to introduce promising technologies into cultivation practice. As an expert component, it actively participates in the newly emerging legal regulations of the Czech Republic and, as part of its membership in the Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic, it also participates in specialized meetings in the EU.
OUMS members grow fruit on 3, 786 ha of orchards, namely fruit crops of 1, 532 ha of apple trees, 119 ha of pear trees, 93 ha of cherries, 206 ha of sour cherries, 505 ha of apricots, 108 ha of peach trees, 816 ha of plum trees, 155 ha of red and 65 ha of black currants, 4 ha of raspberries and 22 ha of strawberries and fruit crops on 98 ha in fruit nurseries.
