The village of Nižní Lhoty is a small village situated in the beautiful environment of the valley of the Morávka river, away from the main communication links.
The name Nižní Lhoty (Lower or Lower Lhota) has been known from the sources since the 16th century. Yet the village was undoubtedly established during the field colonization at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries.
It is possible that in 1450 this village was designated as Rozkova Lhota. Another possibility is that in the 13th and 15th centuries the villages of Nižní and Vyšní Lhoty formed one municipality, which was later divided.
The very location of the village in the valley floodplain of the river Morávka predetermined it to frequent floods, which were often joined by other natural disasters.
In 1960 Nižní Lhoty became part of the village Nošovice, as its local part Nižní Lhoty. On 1 July 1975 it was decided to integrate municipalities and to create an integrated municipality of Dobrá, into which, with effect from 1 January 1976, our municipality was incorporated as a local part of Dobrá 3 - Nižní Lhota.
By a referendum in 1990, the citizens of Nižné Lhota decided on the independence and restoration of the municipality.
Population: 264 (as at 1 January 2011).
The area of the village is 378 ha.
