Ostravice Municipal Office.
Ostravice was founded in the second half of the 16th century. The first written record dates back to 1581 from the urbari of the Hukvaldy estate, where it is written as an OSTRAWICZE village. Settlement of Pobeskydí proceeded as a result of so-called peasant and Wallachian colonization from both the Czech and Polish side. The left Moravian bank of the Ostravice River was the border region of the Czech state, Silesia was situated on the right bank of the river. Settlers also settled in less accessible mountain areas, built their farms here, accessed mountain forests, raised cattle, and robotized in the forest. This was a gradual expansion
the village, which over the two centuries expanded around the river, to Frýdlant nad Ostravicí, Horní Bečva, White Cross and Bumbálka and until 1951 belonged among the largest municipalities.
Its area at that time was 104, 4 km2.
