Těškovice is located in Silesia in the southeastern part of the Low Jeseník in the former district of Opava and about 10 km from Bílovec. The cadastre of the village is located at an altitude of 386 to 458 meters (the highest point is Mečník / Mezník). From the highest points there is a beautiful view of the Beskydy wall, industrial Ostrava, Klimkovice spa, etc. The village is surrounded by 2 valleys: Jamník and Setiny.
Těškovice has 840 inhabitants and unfortunately do not have any major sights. The dominant feature of the village is the pseudo-Gothic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary from 1863, other memorial buildings include monuments to the victims of the First and Second World Wars.
The quality of life in the village is contributed by a 5-class elementary school, kindergarten, grocery store, hospitality, a multi-purpose playground with an artificial surface and a grass football field for active recreation. A new multifunctional sports ground from EU funds has been opened in the village.
Transport in the village is provided by bus companies, which run lines between Bílovec and Opava and Ostrava, etc.
Tourists visit Těškovice especially for the surrounding forests, providing many beauties for hikers and cyclists, but also mushroom pickers and other nature lovers. In the Setina valley there is a hidden recreation center situated on the edge of the Oderské vrchy Protected Landscape Area 25 km from Ostrava and 15 km from Opava in a quiet and picturesque valley of the Setina river in the middle of mixed forests. Ideal for recreation of seniors and families with children.
