Blatec Municipal Office.
Blatec is located on a slightly undulating plain about 9 km from Olomouc, on the railway line Olomouc - Nezamyslice. The oldest traces of human settlement in the cadastre of the village date back to the period of the funnel cup culture - around 3000 BC. The first written mention of Blatec dates from 1141 (deed of the Bishop of Olomouc Jindřich Zdík), in the years 1500 - 1848 the village was the property of the city of Olomouc. Until 1980, Blatec was an independent municipality. On July 1, 1980, it was merged with the village of Kožušany-Tážaly, in 1990 it became independent again.

The Romza stream flows through the village, which is piped on the square. The state road connects Blatec with the towns of Olomouc (in the north) and Prostějov (in the south). At present, 628 inhabitants live in 206 houses in the village. The oldest part of the village is a village square (round type) whose dominants are the Municipal House and the Chapel of St. Marquette.
