The village of Nivnice is located in the district of Uherské Hradiště and is surrounded by gentle hills on three sides.

Ethnographically, Nivnice belongs to the part called Moravské Slovácko, i.e. among the areas where folk customs are still maintained today.

The first preserved written mention of the village is dated August 21, 1261 in the document of the Brumov castellan Smila ze Střílek, who donated the settlement of Nivnica to the Cistercian monastery of Smilheim in Vizovice.

Currently, 3, 332 inhabitants live here.

Nivnice is considered the most probable birthplace of J.A. Comenius. According to historical sources, he was born in Bartko's mill, which is located opposite building II. elementary school grades.

In the village there is the Beseda Community House, a library, a sports complex, a recreation facility with a swimming pool, a Relax Center, a health center, accommodation and catering facilities, as well as the Charity House of St. Guardian angels.
