The first mention of the village is in the founding documents of the Benedictine monastery and dates from 1104. In 1234, the village was sold to the monastery in Tisnov and later the estates in Číchov were exchanged for the Lord and Brtnice Číchov became the property of the margrave. In the 15th century, the village became part of the Brtnice estate. In 1580, the settlement of Hynkov was founded by Hynek of Wallenstein.
The river Jihlava flows through the village of Číchov, which used to divide the village into two parts - Číchov u Třebíče and Číchov u Brtnice. In the village, near the river, there has been a well-equipped Tourist Hostel for undemanding clients since 1994, run by the local municipal office. A long-marked red marked tourist path passes through the village, which leads through the valley of the river Jihlava from Třebíč through Okříšky and Luka to the regional town of Jihlava. From the crossroads on the square, a blue-marked path turns, which leads to the town of Brtnice, and a long-distance cycle route No. 28 and a cycle nature trail lead through the valley of the Jihlava River.
In the vicinity of the village of Číchov you can visit the ruins of the Gothic castle Rokštejn, the windmill of the Dutch type Větrník in Kancibork in Třebíč, the Vysočina Museum and the chateau in Třebíč and other attractions.
