Obecni urad Sychrov

c.p. 1, Sychrov 463 44
The territory of today's village Sychrov has been inhabited since prehistoric times, specifically since the Bronze Age by Slavic tribes. The local parts that make up the present-day village of Sychrov (the area of the Sychrov chateau, Radostín, Sedlejovice, Třtí, Vrchovina) originated in the Middle Ages and were entered in the list of parish municipalities obliged to pay church tax - the so-called penny of St. Petra. The villages were part of the so-called Svijanské estate, which belonged to the Vartemberks, who came from the Lusatian Markvartice. The new development of villages can be observed in the second half of the 17th century, when the whole country was ravaged by the Thirty Years' War, deprived of a large part of the population and the manors had no one to cultivate. Therefore, new villages were established at the manor houses, their inhabitants had to take over the manor land for cultivation. The owners of the Sychrov chateau, whose oldest part was built in the years 1690 - 1693 by the French Lamott family from Frintrop, had a great influence on the history of the village and the whole wide surroundings. The chateau and the surrounding villages reached their greatest prosperity under other French owners, the Rohans, who boasted the title of prince of royal blood. They inhabited Sychrov in the years 1820 - 1945.
Today's individual local parts of the village Sychrov were integrated during the era of building socialism into the so-called "Great Sychrov", which consisted of 12 local parts (Čtveřín, Doubí, Husa, Lažany, Paceřice, Radimovice, Radostín, Sedlejovice, Sychrov - castle grounds, Třtí, Vrchovina and Žďárek). In 1990, an independent village Sychrov was created, which today consists of five local parts - the castle complex Sychrov, Radostín, Sedlejovice, Třtí, Vrchovina
