The village of Slaník can be found in the South Bohemian Region on the banks of the Otava River, near the district town of Strakonice. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1359. Today there live around 160 inhabitants. Slaník is located at an altitude of 395 m above sea level, the cadastral area is 2.97 km2.
