Obec Ripec

c.39, Ripec 391 81
The village of Řípec is located on the right bank of the river Lužnice in the district of Tábor in the South Bohemian Region.

The name Řípec was given to the settlement in all probability since it was founded on a smaller hill. In the old days, a big hill was called a rape, a small one a rape. According to this origin of the name, it is probably evident that the village of Řípec is one of the oldest settlements in the area, as it is already mentioned in the 10th century that Řípec belonged to Jindřich Dráchovský in Dráchov, among other settlements.

The first surviving written record of the village is from 1363. At present, Řípec has 333 permanent inhabitants.

The village has a water supply, gas pipeline, sewerage and there is also a library, playground, restaurant and accommodation facilities and a grocery store.

Řípec also regularly organizes many cultural and social events.
