The village of Štěpánovice is located on the main road I / 34, which connects the towns of České Budějovice and Třeboň at an altitude of 463 m above sea level. The village currently has over 350 houses and more than 900 inhabitants.

The dominant feature of the village is the Gothic Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary dating from the mid-14th century with a stone baptistery (from 1515) and an artistically very rare late Gothic wooden statue of the Virgin Mary.

In the village there is a Post Office (ZIP 37373), whose delivery district consists of the village Štěpánovice, including the settlements Vranín and Skalice and other adjacent villages.

The village also has a primary (1st - 5th grade) and kindergarten.

The village has its own water supply, sewerage, wastewater treatment plant and is completely gasified.

The local Sokolovna is used for sports not only for table tennis, badminton, floorball, but also for other sports and cultural events. There is also a grass football field, a tennis court and a village pond with fishing opportunities.
