The village of Zbyslavice is located about 15 km northwest of the regional capital of Ostrava and 6 km from the town of Klimkovic, on a hilly area with the highest altitude of 373 m, between the valleys of the trout stream Seziny and Polančice in the Odra river basin.

The cadastre of the village has 740ha, of which 292ha are forests and 276ha of arable land, which is mainly farmed by ZD Slezan. The village now has 565 inhabitants.
The first documented mention is from 1359, when the village consisted of a separate small farm whose owners lived in a wooden fortress, after which only a small hill remained.
The village has its own primary school, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2002. It also has extensive infrastructure, such as water supply, gas, electricity, telephone, sewerage and asphalt roads.
The Jednota cooperative store and a private restaurant in the Municipal House are available for citizens and summer visitors.
The municipality also owns a large municipal hall, where most social and cultural events for up to 300 participants take place.
A network of marked cycle paths runs through the village, from which there is a wonderful view of the Beskydy Mountains, Lázně Hýlov or even the Ostrava agglomeration.
The chapel of St. Matthew and the former windmill, which has been in the municipal emblem since 2001, are also worth mentioning.
The water mill on the Sezina stream is now used only for recreation and housing. There are another 45 holiday properties, cottages and cottages in the village.
Zbyslavice always had a more agricultural character with small craftsmen and tradesmen. By descent, and rightly so, it belongs to Ostrava, because the majority of citizens were and are employed there, and the youth mostly study or attend educational institutions in Ostrava. The connection between the village and the surrounding area is ensured by bus transport.
Football players TJ Sokol, gardeners, hunters and the Car Club, including the Gradient model aircraft club, are active.
After a certain slowdown in construction activities, the demand for building plots is increasing in the village, apparently also because of the highway being built to Ostrava, which passes 2 km from the border of the cadastre of the village.
It can be said that life in the village of Zbyslavice is full and in the future it can be expected to improve further.
