We find the first written mention of Lipůvka in 1371 in Moravian land records. The church of St. Kliment, which stood on a hill about 1.5 km southwest of Lipůvko, was behind the reforms of Josef II. Canceled in 1787. Lipůvka remained the parish church until 1750, when the current church of St. Cecilia was built in the village.
There was a school in Lipůvka already in the 17th century. In 1818, a new one-classroom school was built near the church. Another school (today's kindergarten building) was built in 1902 and had three classes. The current elementary school was opened in 1961.
In 1784, a hereditary post office was established near the Imperial Road, which was abolished in 1876. The building of the former post office still stands today (a meat shop) and is the oldest building in Lipůvka after St. Cecilia's Church.
