The village of Vyšní Lhoty is located on the right bank of the Morávka River below the Prašivá mountain on an area of 1148 ha.
The first mention of the village dates back to 1292, when it was called Lhota Mudré or Warmundovice after its founder Pašek Mudré Warmund.
The important trade route "Solárka" led through the territory of the village, along which mainly salt was transported.
Important monuments include the wooden church on Mount Prašivá, which is now a national cultural monument and is held
there are annual pilgrimages to St. Anthony, 1st Sunday after 13th June.
Near the church is a wooden tourist hut with a lookout tower, built in 1921 by the Silesian Union.
Today it belongs to the Club of Czech Tourists and is a welcome place to visit during tourist trips. The sights of Prašivé can be accessed on foot, by bike, or by car. Several cycle paths pass through the cadastre of the village.
An unusual cycling route is the path called "Beskydy Radegast Cyklo Track", which leads through a picturesque environment
The protected landscape area of the Beskydy has around 40 inns, pubs and restaurants located on the route or in the immediate vicinity and measures 53.3 km. Along the cycle paths, visitors can take advantage of natural swimming in the river. A tennis court and a multi-purpose playground are also available for use in free time. The transport connection to Vyšní Lhoty is by bus.
