Advantages of grooved rubberized rollers

Quality of the production of rubberized rollers for industrial use and responding to our clients' requirements is of high importance to AGT Zlin. Thanks to the growing interest in spiral rubber rollers the company decided to extend the portfolio of its products and buy a new device, which serves, among other things, to manufacture grooved rubber rollers. Therefore the company now produces not only the original smooth rollers, but also the new grooved ones.

There are industrial applications in which the use of spiral rubber rollers significantly enhances the quality of the device's individual properties and overall functionality. Thanks to the grooves, impurities do not stick to the rollers' surface (like they do with the smooth ones) and in case of spreading rollers the spreading is carried out more to the sides.

Production of grooved rubberized rollers

Rubberized rollers with cross grooves

Grooved rubber rollers are produced in two versions. The first type are rubberized rollers with cross grooves. These are often used in conveyors and their main advantage is the already mentioned resistance to impurities. Cross grooves on a rubberized roller will secure an automatic cleansing from the accumulated dirt, which then simply falls away. While using the smooth rollers required the employees to stop the machine and clean the roller manually, the grooved rollers can handle this activity on their own and do not require the whole operation to be stopped.

Spreading grooved rollers

The second newly produced type are spreading grooved rubber rollers. Thanks to the spiral's direction, where the left side is grooved in the left direction and right side in the right direction, the conveyed material is thus spread to the sides. Such design is appreciated for instance when conveying a foil, which, thanks to the spreading effect, does not shrink and therefore does not cause any collisions. Using the spreading grooved rollers is especially advantageous in packaging machines or in the food processing and pharmaceutical industries in general.
