The village Hněvošice lies in the northern part of the district Opava near the state border with the Republic of Poland - the northern border of the cadastral territory is also the state border. In the south-east the village borders with the village Kobeřice, in the south with the village
Služovice and its parts Vrbka, in the west with the village Oldřišov. The village has a cadastral area of 616 ha and 1026 inhabitants live here. An important archaeological locality is Hněvošický háj (Hněvošický háj), where 5 sprinkled cairns can be seen, originally from the Bronze Age, into which the graves of Slavic Great Moravian period were later inserted
empire. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1288, when the owners Hněvošice Trutvín and Vítek. In the possession of the originally independent farm, a number of owners gradually took turns. Under the Kyjov of Lukavec is the first time in 1501
the existence of a fortress. It was destroyed in a fire in the early 18th century and then the owners of Šarovcová Šarov
built here a smaller Baroque chateau. In 1920, the village was annexed to the Czechoslovak Republic and incorporated into the district of Hlučín, since 1928, with the exception of years of occupation, belongs to the district of Opava.
Transport links are provided by the 1st class road I / 46, which starts in Vyškov and ends in Sudice on the state border with Poland.
In the village there is a border crossing Hněvošice - Sciborzyce Wielkie for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles up to 3, 5 t.
The village crosses the cycle path "PRAJSKÁ CESTA", which begins in Chlebičov and ends in Bělá with the possibility of connecting to the other two
routes that cross each other. In the village is an important cultural monument parish church. Peter and Paul from 1730, restored in 1842 and a wall surrounding the boundaries of the church. From the point of view of architectural values, the parish building and the undoubtedly new Church of Christ the Good Shepherd, which is the dominant feature of the village, can be seen in the wide surroundings. There are also four chapels along the main backbone. Hněvošický Grove was declared a nature reserve in 1969 with an area of 67, 71 ha, with natural forests with elements of the Carpathian flora, which is located here in the northwest border of its expansion. In this area is located on the western cadastral border Hněvošice Almin hill, whose height is 315 m ..
On the western edge of the village in Hněvošický háj is located sports complex, which includes both a football field, table tennis and sanitary facilities TJ Sokol Hněvošice, and two tennis courts of the agricultural team Hněvošice.
