Velehrad is a parish of the Archdiocese of Olomouc, Deanery of Uherské Hradiště. The parish includes the villages of Velehrad, Modrá, Salaš and Tupesy.
There are 2 religious orders in the parish. The order of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) provides the spiritual administration and running of the basilica. They have a religious house here, and the Stojanov pilgrimage and exercise house is run by the sisters of the congregation of St. Cyril and Methodius.
The pride of the parish is the beautiful baroque basilica with the adjacent buildings of the former Cistercian monastery. The lapidarium is accessible in the basement of the basilica.
On April 22, 1990, St. celebrated mass in the courtyard in front of the basilica. Pope John Paul II
There is also a house on the territory of the parish
a retired priest called Marianum and 3 houses of the Institute of Social Care for the mentally disabled with a capacity of about 300 people.
