The village of Staré Sedliště is located in the district of Tachov in the Pilsen region. Currently, approx. 1200 inhabitants. The village of Staré Sedliště also includes parts of Labuť, Mchov, Nové Sedliště, Úšava. In 2019, the village of Staré Sedliště received an award in the Village of the Year competition.
The first written mention of the village dates from 1177, when a bow was located in a place called Sedliště.
In the village there is a Primary and Kindergarten school, as well as the Modeling Club Úšava, p.s., SDH Staré Sedliště, Nové Sedliště, Labuť, TJ Staré Sedliště (soccer and volleyball section) and ZO of the Czech Beekeepers' Association Staré Sedliště.
About 1 km east of the railway station is the nature reserve Mělký rybník (27.9 ha) with reeds and an important nesting place for birds.
South of the village near the chapel on the way to Nové Sedliště stands a memorial tree - Linden "Na parském" (large-leaved linden - girth 450 cm, height 17 m, age approx. 250 years). Next to the church in the cemetery is a group of three memorial linden trees (large-leaved linden tree - circumference 486, 406 and 386 cm, height 22-25 m, age approx. 180 years).
