Member of the KAHAN microregion.
Zakřany village lies in the South Moravian Region about 25 km west of Brno, at an altitude of 400 meters and has an area of 507 ha.
It has its origins in ancient times, when Zakřany was covered with bushes from many sides. Therefore, in the upper part of the village emblem is shown shrub. In the lower part of the emblem there are two acorns - the emblem of the oldest noble family of Zakřany. Although archaeological excavations show that the territory of our village and neighboring villages was already inhabited in the early Stone Age, the first written mention of the village dates back to 1350, when Oldřich of Zakřany gave two fields to Catherine, wife of William of Skalice.
