GENERAL INFORMATION
The English College in Prague is a non profit organisation (a Czech o.p.s) working "for the Public good". The College has no Shareholders and no dividends are paid to any individual or organisation.

All monies coming into the College, from fees, Government grants and public funds raising, are used exclusively for the benefit of the education of the students of the College.

The English College Foundation, London, established the English College in Prague to provide a broad and balanced education in English for students between the ages of 13 to 19. The College opened in September 1994. We try to keep the balance at 80% of students of the Czech Curricular Programme and 20% of students in the International Curricular Programme. The school is a member of ECIS, COBISEC, CEESA, HMC and Institutional member of the College of Teachers.

The English College is a six year Secondary School and a part of the Czech education network. During the first two years Czech students complete their obligatory schooling and all students start to follow a programme of IGCSE leading to the Exam of International General Certificate of Secondary Education (at 16/17) and the International Baccalaureate (at 18+). Both examinations enjoy international recognition. The IGCSE is administered by the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate and the IB by the International Baccalaureate Organisation in Geneva. A successful performance in these examinations will qualify a student respectively for continued further education from 16 to 19 or for admission to universities throughout the world.

admission procedure

From September 1996, The English College in Prague is a 6 year Secondary School, as a part of the Czech Education network.
