The town of Dolní Benešov is located about 14 km east of the town of Opava in a slightly undulating landscape on the southern edge of the Hlučín Hills at an altitude of 230 m, on the left course of the Opava River. It consists of two parts - Dolní Benešov and Zábřeh. The city is an important industrial center.
