Regional military headquarters are a military administrative office that performs state administration in its territorial district and at the same time fulfills the tasks of state defense in accordance with special legal regulations, in particular Act No. 585/2004 Coll., on conscription and its provision (Defense Act).
They plan and ensure mobilization preparations and the implementation of mobilization, and discuss this issue with the territorial bodies of the state administration and self-government. Administratively, they ensure the processes of accepting applicants into the service relationship of a professional soldier by issuing a decision of the director of the regional military command on the ability of a citizen of the Czech Republic to perform active military service.
In the security council of the region or the crisis staff of the region, they ensure the tasks of planning and deploying the forces and resources of the Army of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the components of the Integrated Rescue System or to fulfill the tasks of the Police of the Czech Republic.
When dealing with crisis situations, they create an operations center under the operational control of the developed Joint Operations Center of the Ministry of Defense.
The Regional Military Commands are subordinate to the Director of the MoD Capability Development and Planning Section.
The Olomouc Regional Military Command performs state administration on the territory of the Olomouc Region and is responsible for natural persons who have permanent residence in this territory and legal entities with their headquarters in this territory.
