The Bechyně Volunteer Fire Brigade was founded in 1874, and currently has 84 members and 32 young firefighters.
Field unit of the volunteer fire department:
During the day, at night, on weekdays and on holidays, we go out to fires, traffic accidents and other incidents to save the lives and property of our fellow citizens.
Fire sport:
We regularly participate in fire sports competitions. We also organize a number of competitions, such as the Bechyňské heptathlon or the St. Florian's Day Celebrations.
Fire Museum:
Bechyn is home to the oldest firefighting museum in the Czech Republic. The museum was founded in 1974 and you will find here an exhibition of historical firefighting equipment. On display are exhibits from all over the world that are up to 400 years old. The Fire Museum is located in a former agricultural granary, not far from the bus station, next to the TESCO department store.
