The village of Pouzdřany is a wine-growing village located in the Břeclav district and lies on the left bank of the Svratka river, above the confluence of the Svratka and Jihlavka rivers, at an altitude of 176m. The highest peak in the cadastre of the village is Kolby (308 m). The first written mention comes from 1244, when the village belonged to the Herbur monastery in Brno. Currently, the village has 792 inhabitants. The social life of the village is mainly taken care of by the Myslivecký spolek, the TJ Sokol Volunteer Fire Brigade, the Pouzdřanský zdar and also the Pouzdřany Community Culture and Education Committee. The village has its own primary and kindergarten school.

Cultural monuments:
- Gothic parish church of St. Nicholas
- Pouzdran Castle - Renaissance building from the end of the 16th century
- Renaissance town house No. 115 from around 1600.
- rectory building of late medieval origin
- statues of St. Jan Nepomucký near the church and Hřbitovní street.

To the north-east of the village lies the national nature reserve Pouzdřanská steppe-Kolby, where we can find a number of protected plants and animals, and the village is located on the Mikulovská wine trail.
