The first written mention of the village dates back to 1201. The village is a founding member of the Voluntary Association of Znojmo wine villages Daníž.
Šatov is undoubtedly the center of winemaking in the Znojmo region.
If you are interested in wine and wine tourism, you will surely know Šatov's Moravian Cellar with a Winery Barn, Educational Vineyard of Old Varieties, Educational Trail "Behind History, Wine and Fortification" and a rarity among monuments - the Painted Cellar.
