The village of Valeč is located in the southern foothills of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, 15 km southeast of the district town of Třebíč at an altitude of 438 meters in the district of Třebíč in the Vysočina region. The neighboring villages of the seat are Stropešín, Dolní Vilémovice, Hrotovice, Odunec, Dalešice and Třebenice. At present, approx. 823 inhabitants.
The first written mention of Valča comes from 1294, but the oldest historical finds - cut stone tools and so-called Horák ceramics are about 6, 000 years old.
The Valeč Renaissance chateau was built by Smil Osovský in 1534. In 1558, a brewery was established in Valeč.
Near the village there is a Dalešice dam on the river Jihlava (with a pumped storage hydroelectric power plant). The dominant features of the village are the church, the chateau and the school, and all the essential events of the life of the citizens of Valče in the past centuries are connected with these buildings.
The village is gas-fired, has a public water supply and sewerage system with a wastewater treatment plant. The village has a nine-year primary school and kindergarten, falconry, post office, library, church and rectory. The village also has the Valeč Sports Club, TJ Sokol Valeč and the Valeč Volunteer Fire Brigade Association
