Havlíčkův Brod
is an attractive, ancient town whose history dates back to the early 13th century. It has been taking its place for 750 years on the river Sázava in an area blessed with many natural beauties of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The original settlement near the silver mines became a city with royal rights and, by the end of the second millennium, an important district town.
Havlíčkův Brod is currently inhabited by almost twenty-five thousand citizens.
The city does not lack the possibility of sports. For this purpose, the Kotlina sports complex with a winter stadium and an indoor swimming pool with water attractions, complete with a sauna and a fitness center
and a squash hall. Hockey has its tradition here, which the natives of Brod have made famous all over the world.
The panorama of the charming natural scenery along the Sázava River can be viewed through the popular sport - cycling. A cycle path is being built from Davle to Žďár nad Sázavou, which also crosses Havlíčkův Brod.
