The village of Tisovec is located north of the town of Hlinsko in the district of Chrudim in the Pardubice region and consists of parts of the village - Tisovec, Dřeveš, Kvasín, Otáňka and Vrbětice. Currently, there are approx. 323 inhabitants living here.

The first written mention of the village dates back to 1545. The center of Tisovec is part of Dřeveš. There is a municipal office with a social hall in it. The building was built in 1959-1960 above the general school building in Dřeveš after various disagreements between the citizens of Tisovce and Dřeveš. The renovated clubhouse in the Kvasín district serves citizens for social events, which is maintained and repaired by the local fire department. In the middle of the village part of Vrbětice stands a cross and a bell, which the settlement purchased with its own expense in 1894. The bell tower of the cross is made from the wing of a Messerschmitt - the largest aircraft of the Second World War.

The village of Tisovec has a public water supply system, and there is a kindergarten and a sports field.
