The village of Dřevěnice is located in a cozy foothill valley, whose stream separates the flat landscape of Jičín from the wooded hills of Novopacky ". So much for the chronicle of the village from the end of the 19th century. Dřevěnice is located in the Hradec Králové Region, 8 km northeast of the former district town of Jičín and 9 km south of Nová Paky, geomorphologically on the border of the Krkonoško-Jesenička subprovince (sometimes also the Sudety subprovince) and České tabula. The village consists of two parts - Dřevěnice and Dolanky, which merged into one unit in the eighties of the twentieth century. The village is served by regular bus lines from Jičín, Nové Paky and Lázní Bělohradu.
