ZUŠ František Antonín Špork in Lysá nad Labem in the district of Nymburk has a capacity of 620 pupils. The board of trustees of the music school was
founded in our city in 1946. In 1960, the music school received a separate building from the city, which serves
school to this day. Thanks to these spaces, children today can not only choose from a wide range of musical instruments, but can
also visit other disciplines - art, dance and literary-dramatic.
In 1998, due to the great interest of parents and children, a branch of our school was opened in the nearby Kostomlaty nad Labem in Elementary school, Školní 402. About 30 students attend the music department here.
Our teaching also includes numerous public performances by students, regular student and class evenings, art exhibitions,
theatrical performances, joint interdisciplinary projects in which all four artistic disciplines - music, dance, visual arts and literary-dramatic - participate.
We also cooperate with the founder and a number of other entities in the organization of cultural life in the city. Talent tests are held every year in the month of June.
