The town of Ralsko is located in the southeastern part of the Česká Lípa district in the Liberec Region on the territory of the former military training area Ralsko, abandoned by the Soviet army. The name of the town is not the name of any residential part of today's town, but is derived from the name of the dominant hill and castle, located on one of the northern outcrops of the town.
