The town of Osecna is located in the district of Ceska Lipa and is situated at the foot of the Ještěd mountain range and on the edge of the Ralsko Upland. It was probably founded by some Vartenberk in the first half of the 13th century on the trade route between Český Dub and Děvín Castle. The town has seven parts: Osecna, Spa Kundratice, Druzcov, Kotel, Chrastna, Zabrdi and Vlachova. At present, Osecna has 1, 116 permanent residents.
