The village of Zádub - Závišín is located in the Cheb district, Karlovy Vary region. The village consists of three local parts - Zádub, Závišín and Milhostov near Mariánské Lázně. The first written report dates from 1273, where these three villages are listed as the property of the Teplá monastery, and these villages belonged to the Teplá monastery until 1850.
The villages of Zádub and Závišín lie to the east of Mariánské Lázně at an altitude of more than 700 m above sea level. Today, Zádub and Závišín have grown into suburbs of Mariánské Lázně - all the houses are closely connected to the spa. Their owners are either employed in the spa or use them as a recreational facility or as guesthouses, hotels, inns for spa guests. Both communities shared similar fates from the 12th century under a common authority - the Premonstratensian monastery of Teplau, from the beginning of the monastery's establishment and on the same territory.
The social life of the village takes place in the building of the former school, where the original gym serves as a hall. Our municipalities do not have the Volunteer Fire Brigade, which was abolished after 1999, or other associations, so cultural events are organized by the representatives of the municipality or the residents of Milhostov. There is a library in the village, which is located in the building of the municipal office.
There is an entrance to the golf course in the village, which belongs to Mariánské Lázně, but is part of the municipal activities. In winter, the field is used as a cross-country track, parking is available at the Golf Club cafe or at the Český dvůr Inn in Závišín.
A bicycle path passes through the village, which is frequently visited. There are many trails that invite you to take breathtaking walks, for example to the foothills with a view of the wide surroundings and, in good weather, to the German neighbors.
The village is surrounded by beautiful forests that invite you to go for walks associated with mushroom picking.
