The town of Bečov nad Teplou is located in the Karlovy Vary region, about 25 kilometers south of the regional town of Karlovy Vary on the banks of the river Teplá. The dominant feature of the town is the castle and chateau, where the reliquary of St. Maurus is stored, the historic center of the town has been declared a town monument zone since 1992. The towns of Krásný Jez and Vodná fall under the town of Bečov nad Teplou.
