The village of Sedlnice is located on both banks of the river Sedlnice in the district of Nový Jičín. It is located at an altitude of 254 m above sea level and its area is 1371 ha. The village has a rich history and the most important families associated with Sedlnice include the Sedlnický family from Choltice and Eichendorff. Sedlnice is one of the oldest villages in the Příbor region and the first written mention of the village dates from 1267. At present, 1520 inhabitants live here.
