The village of Blížejov is located in the picturesque valley of the Zubřina River, 10 kilometers north of Domažlice. Blížejov, mentioned in historical sources since 1324, was a mansion. The fortress, which used to be the seat of the Blížejovští of Blížejové and Henigárové of Seeberg, disappeared without visible remains. The most important monument and landmark of the village is the core of the Gothic church. Martin built in the second half of the 14th century, which was later rebuilt in the Baroque style. Its interior contains numerous monuments to secular holders of Blížejov, especially old tombstones and epitaphs.
Blížejov present a new development of family houses built on the western edge of the village. In 2005, a total of 76 apartments were handed over to new residents. Under the municipal office Blížejov belong villages Lsteni with a church and a uniquely preserved medieval tower fortress, Přívozec with the castle of Borek Dohalsky from Dohalice, Chotiměř with a remarkable chapel with villages Malonice, Nahošice with castle, Výrov and Františkov.
