Chodská village Mrákov is situated 5 km south of Domažlice. The village characterized by a slender pyramid of the church tower, which is celebrated in the famous Chod song, is first mentioned in 1325. The importance of Mrákov increased during the Czech national revival, when the village visited and ideas for the book Pohorská village drew B. Němcová. Today the local folklore is spreading by the Mrák dance group.
The large village is situated around a regular rectangular square, in the center of which stands the Church of St. Lawrence. Today, the village is almost connected with the neighboring Starý Klíčov, where there is a swimming pool with a restaurant between Mrákov.
