Běchovice is one of the 57 city districts of the capital. city of Prague.
They are administered by local government and state administration bodies - the mayor of the municipal district, the municipal district representative office and the Prague-Běchovice municipal district office.
Currently, Běchovice has approximately 3, 604 inhabitants.
Běchovice was the first station of the only railway that connected Prague via Česká Třebová and Olomouc to Vienna at the time.
In 1840, the railway from Pardubice to Prague was built, and the fame of this station declined somewhat.
The 10 km long Běchovice-Prague Race has a long tradition.
Běchovice has belonged to Prague since 1974, originally as a part of the Prague 9 district, and after the last territorial-administrative reorganization, they are an independent district that is part of the Prague 21 administrative district.
In 1998, they got their own coat of arms and banner.
