The town of Rájec-Jestřebí lies in a beautiful wooded landscape.
The city has 3640 inhabitants. Its parts Rájec (first mention r.1131), Jestřebí (first mention r.1371), Karolín (first mention r.1760), and Holešín (first mention r.1349) were merged and in 1973 Rájec-Jestřebí was promoted to city. The Church of All Saints with a partially exposed fresco dates from 1360. The town is the northern gateway to the Moravian Karst and is called the town of dahlias and camellias for the local breeding of these flowers. The city has a rich cultural life and hosts classical music concerts.
