The village of Řídeč is situated on a terrain crossing between the Haná plain and the Nízký Jeseník mountain range in the valley of Zlatý potok. It is surrounded on three sides by wooded hills, the highest of which is Vysoká Roudná.
The first written mention of the village dates from 1295, it was established on the Sternberg estate as a mining settlement due to iron ore mining.
At present, the village covers an area of 728 hectares and has 195 inhabitants.
The driver belongs to the Sovinecko Nature Park and boasts beautiful nature and the preserved original character of the village.
The dominants of Řídeč include the bell tower, the former school and the fire station.
A number of social and cultural events take place here throughout the year.
