The village of Hrusice is located in central Bohemia on the southern edge of the Prague-East district. The surroundings of the village are characterized by picturesque hills and local cliffs. Hrusice is situated at an altitude of 365 m above sea level and covers an area of 543 ha. The oldest mention of the village dates from 1205. Part of Hrusice is an associated part of Hrušov. Currently, 792 inhabitants live in the village.

Hrusice is inextricably linked to the painter and writer Josef Lada, who was born here, and his most famous works such as Mikeš and Bubáci and Hastrmani.
