The village of Velká Bukovina is located in the district of Děčín in the Ústí nad Labem Region and is the seat of self-government for the villages of Malá Bukovina and Karlovka.
In historical sources, the village is first mentioned in 1454 as the property of Jan of Vartenberk. It currently has 510 permanent residents.
In the village there is a kindergarten, library, playground, post office and restaurant facilities.
The Volunteer Fire Brigade and the Velká Bukovina Football Club also operate here.
Many cultural and sporting events take place here throughout the year.
