The village of Kovanec can be found in the Central Bohemian Region, west of the district town of Mladá Boleslav at an altitude of 300 m above sea level. The first written mention of the village dates from 1546. At present, a total of 118 inhabitants live here. Kovanec is a member of the Association of Municipalities of the Mladá Boleslav Region.
