The village of Žernovník is located at the foot of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands near the Boskovická brázdy in the district of Blansko. The village with a cadastral area of 287 ha is located at an altitude of 409 m above sea level, 25 km north of Brno, 12 km west of Blansko, near the town of Černá Hora, which is 2 km away. Over 220 inhabitants live in the village.
The village of Žernovník is a very suitable starting point and end point for tourist routes due to its location in the center of an interesting area at the crossroads of roads. Within 20 km you will find interesting tourist destinations in Blanensko, Tišnovsk and Boskovice. The area is suitable not only for hiking but also for cycling, and in winter you will find many cross-country trails here. Žernovník is also listed in the cycling routes of KČT Boskovice.
Right in Žernovník, you can see an interesting cross stone (several others in the surrounding villages), located very close to the chapel. From the Skalka hill - 453 m, a wide view of the landscape unfolds in front of you, in clear weather it is possible to recognize the Jeseníky Mountains. There is a protected landscape reserve near Horka hill - on a rock. The entire cadastre of the village is located in the protected landscape area of Lysicko.
