The village of Starý Jičín is located at the foot of the Starojické hill about 5 km from Nové Jičín.
The dominant feature of the village is the ruins of the Starý Jičín castle, standing on the Starojické hill. The castle was built at the beginning of the 13th century. In 1996, the municipality reconstructed the castle tower. IN
there is a castle cafe on the ground floor of the tower. On the upper floors, there is an exhibition of period armor and documents about the castle and estate of Starý Jičín. Interesting period and other cultural events are held at the castle every year.
