Horní Tošanovice is a small village with 500 inhabitants, which lies in the picturesque foothill countryside between the Moravian-Silesian Beskydy and Žermanice dam on the former "imperial road", connecting Silesia in the past with other countries of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.

The first mention of the village dates back to the early 14th century, recent archaeological research has shown that the territory of the village was inhabited more than four thousand years ago.
Worth seeing is the building of the first pottery in Silesia dating from the 19th century, but also a well-preserved Baroque chapel and a small Empire chateau from the 1830s, which is known for its staircase courtyard, valuable stucco decoration and a pleasant landscaped park.
For lovers of water sports and summer recreation is an important attraction near the Žermanice dam. Good food, drinks and pleasant seating are offered by restaurants around first-class roads.
There is a ranch in the village, which offers horse riding in the near and distant surroundings along the marked hike path through the valley of the Stonávka River.
