The first written mention of the village dates back to 1131, when it belonged to the Archdioconate of Přerov.
The village is located near the district town of Přerov, with a population of 1650. In the village there is a kindergarten, elementary school, health center, library, cinema, grocery stores.
In the village are springs of mineral water, the best known is Hanácka mineral water.
Cultural monuments:
- Altars in the Church of the Assumption
- Statue of John of Nepomuk at the bridge over Moštěnka.
The Přerov-Břeclav railway line runs through the village and there are also several bus lines.
